21 - 23: ABSA Cape Epic
The Absa Cape Epic presented by adidas takes place every year and is a race held over 8 days and includes a time-trial prologue. The route changes every year, and leads aspiring amateur and professional mountain bikers from around the world through approximately 800 kilometres of the unspoilt nature of the Western Cape and up approximately 16 000m of climbing over some of the most magnificent passes in South Africa.

24 & 25: Old-fashion Bazaar at Ceres Transport Rider’s Museum

Come and visit this annual bazaar/ market to be taken back to the olden days of real home made treats, like ginger beer, “koeksisters”, pancakes, “mosbeskuit”, home made soap, candles and many more. 
Learn about the history of Ceres while strolling through the various interesting exhibitions at the Transport Rider’s Museum.

28: Matroosberg Sermon on the Mountain
A worship service on Matroosberg to experience God in nature and to bring praise to Him for His wonderful creation. Start the day with a drive up Matroosberg and join the worship service. Thereafter have your own picnic for lunch and enjoy the scenery and mountains.

Eselfontein Outdoor Festival (Date TBA)
This has become a must do on every serious mountain bikers calendar. An array of disciplines and distances cater for all levels of riders, but the true magic of the Eselfontein Experience lies in the variety and quality of the single-track incorporated in the event. Whether you get your kicks from lung-busting climbs, breathtaking views, long fast descents, single-track or just a cruise through the orchards, the Ceres MTB Experience should not be missed.

02: Matroosberg All 4 Fun Day: 4x4 Family Fun
This day is being organised to give “normal” 4x4 drivers and their families the opportunity to get together locally and enjoy their vehicles. This day is aimed at spectators and apart from the obstacle course, there will be a ‘time trail’ to test speed and road holding.

16: Michell’s Pass Half Marathon
This major annual sporting event, hosted by the Ceres Athletic Club, takes runners through the beautiful Michell’s Pass, the gateway to the Ceres valley.

5 & 6: Ceres Golf Classic
The Ceres Golf Club, situated at the foot of the beautiful Skurweberg Mountains and sheltered from the South Easterly wind, offers this major golfing weekend on one of the best 9 hole courses in the Cape, with high quality greens, smooth well-grassed fairways and magnificent views.

Gydosig Christmas Light Festival (Date TBA)
The residents of the Gydosig retirement village decorate and light up their houses with a variety of colourful Christmas lights and decorations. Bring the family and view this wonderful sight of lights!  Also find here a small market with home made treats, coffee/tea garden and a variety of foods like roosterkoek, sosaties, afval, potjiekos, wine etc.

Ceres Christmas Market
An evening Christmas street market in the central business area of Ceres.  A part of Voortrekker Road (main road) is closed for a few hours to traffic and pedestrians can move freely along the street through a variety of stalls – from Christmas gifts, toys, arts and crafts, home made treats and speciality foods.  The start of the market coincides with the official switching-on of the Ceres Christmas lights in Voortrekker Road.  Friday & Saturday evening will include life entertainment and music by local artists and musicians.  The Sunday evening will be a Gospel and Christmas Carols evening involving various local churches and choir groups.
