Ceres Zipline Adventures

This “foefieslide” adventure is situated in the lovely mountains surrounding the Ceres Valley.  A mere 1½ hours’ drive from Cape Town, it is the perfect breakaway from the hectic city life!

Our Ceres Zip slide Tour offers 8 slides, totalling a length of 1.4km – this is the best Zipline Tour in Africa!  The amazing rock formations and river form a perfect backdrop to a fun-, adrenaline-filled adventure!  The surrounding Skurweberg Mountains forms a picturesque backdrop to your journey.

You will be kitted up in a full body harness with state of the art equipment and then 2 fully trained guides will take you on the Zipline tour into the mountain. Price includes a drink during and after the tour.

A short walk takes them to the departure point at the first slide, from where the breath-taking view reaches over the town of Ceres and across the Ceres Valley.  Here the fun starts!

The slides vary in lengths from 100 meters to 291 meters! The highest point above the ground is 40 meters. The duration of the tour is group size dependant.

We operate in all-weather circumstances, we don’t have any group size limited, and children from 3 years old can take part in this amazing adventure.

Our office is situated 1 Voortrekker Street also known as the “Natuurtuin” at the foot of the Michell’s Pass at the entrance of Ceres town from Cape Town side. (R46)

We are open every day of the year from 9h00 to 15h00 in the Winter, 8h00 to late in Summer and tours depart every hour. Should you have special time requirements whether it is earlier or later, we will gladly accommodate.

Our pricing structure is as follows:

Rate:  R 400.00 per person

Special rates for tour group bookings can be negotiated.  Bookings recommended.

Mountain Biking & Fishing

MOUNTAIN BIKING:

Day Visitors Allowed:

Eselfontein

There are 4 different mountain bike routes: 15, 25, 40 & 60km
All routes except for the 15 km route is 80 % single track. The 25 km ride has no big climbs and does not require a great deal of fitness, but takes you through rolling (smooth) single track and forest sections. The 40 km riders do the 25 km route and then one climb up to “Death drop”, followed by an awesome downhill all the way to the finish. You need a fair amount of fitness and skill. The 60 km participants do the 40 km ride followed by one more climb going past “Red Bull Hill” and then up to the “Dead Man Walking” followed by another awesome downhill and forest section to the finish. This route is recommended for only fit and skillful cyclists and should take the same time as the “Karoo to Coast” event. Riding time is 2.5 to 6 hours.

4x4 Routes

{gallery}4x4{/gallery}

Matroosberg Private Nature Reserve

This route in the Hex River Mountains, which climbs from the Erfdeel farm homestead at 1300m to 2240m, is probably the highest 4x4 route above sea-level in the Western Cape. There are views down the terrifying Groothoek Gorge on one side and down on one of the few skiing areas in South Africa on the other side. This route should be regarded as more of a spectacularly scenic drive than a 4x4 challenge, the exception being wet and snow conditions.

4x4 Skills required:
There is a little bit of loose gravel at the start of the route, but most novices should be able to handle the trail. However this could become a 5-star route should there be snow - so phone beforehand. This trail is normally a 3 out of 5 trail and the trail is slightly more difficult than a moderate trail. A little bit of experience is required and your vehicle needs to have low range.
Costs: Trail:  R250 per vehicle + R50 per person.

Accommodation:
Goatherds House (fully equipped): R1 800 per weekend and R1 000 per night during the week.
Ski Hut (sleeps 20): R100 p.p. p.n. - minimum R500 per night.  Not available on Friday nights during skiing season. Bring own bedding
BZN– sleeps 2, 4 & 6): En-suite rooms with kitchenettes. R155 p.p.p.n.

Lakeside Cottages:  R1 800 per weekend, Single nights - R1 000 per night.

In-House Camping: R80 per person per night

Camping: R50 p.p. p.n. Children under 13 pay R50
Private Campsite with own ablution: R70 p.p.p.n.
