Ceres Tourism is an organisation, dedicated to working with and providing visitor & membership services for businesses that adhere to a high standard of service.
Our financial year runs from July – June and membership fees are decided upon at our annual general meeting.
Ceres Tourism values their members’ privacy and confidentiality, and we will NEVER give or sell their information to third parties. Please visit our website for a copy of our privacy policy.
Membership Fees:
Membership fees are payable within 30 days after receipt of invoice.
If payment is still outstanding after 3 months, membership will ipso facto be cancelled after notification to the member.
If a new member joins the tourism bureau in the financial year, the member will only pay a pro rata membership fee.
If membership is cancelled during the financial year, the member will be charged a pro-rata payment for the duration of the financial year used, up to the month of cancellation.
Brochure Exposure:
Members are encouraged to supply the tourism office with brochures as this is a key marketing tool.
Only fully paid-up members will have the opportunity to advertise in the Ceres Brochure and be listed on the Ceres tear-off map.
Bookings & Referrals:
Ceres Tourism endeavours to provide visitors with relevant and up-to-date information about product, services and activities provided by our members that matches their requirements. The onus is on the member to ensure that Ceres Tourism has their correct information.
Visitors are assisted in an objective, professional and efficient manner where they make their own decisions accordingly.
Members must quote Ceres Tourism their rates, inclusive of the office’s 10% commission.
Ceres Tourism cannot guarantee reservations, but will do our best to turn enquiries into reservations.
Ceres Tourism membership is guaranteed if the following is in place:
A completed membership form
A signed copy of our code of conduct
Compliance with all relevant minimum requirement criteria and inspection requirements.
The payment of all fees upon receipt of the invoice.
The Local Tourism Association (LTA) is a professional organization dedicated to working with and promoting businesses that adhere to a high standard of service and professionalism. In order to ensure that we achieve this, we require you to subscribe to the following code of conduct.
Maintain high standards of courtesy and hospitality. Ensure that facilities and services are appropriate and of a good standard.
Describe fairly to all visitors and prospective visitors the facilities and services provided by an establishment, whether through advertisement, brochure, word-of-mouth or any other means.
Allow each visitor reasonable opportunity to view the services prior to registration.
Be clear to visitors exactly what is included in the prices quoted, including taxes and any surcharges (where applicable). Give clear details of charges for additional services or facilities available.
Give each visitor, on request, details of payments due and a receipt, if required.
Adhere to and not exceed current prices and advise guests of any alteration in rates prior to registration.
Deal promptly and courteously with all enquiries, reservations, correspondence and complaints from visitors.
Ensure, within the bounds of legal liability, the safety of guests and their possessions.
Ensure that no guest is discriminated against in an unfair manner, notwithstanding the operator’s Right of Admission.
Actively protect and enhance, where possible, the environment and experiences of tourists in the Western Cape.
Implement lawful, healthy, safe and equitable employment conditions, enhance equal employment opportunities and support human resource development through training.
Allow an LTA representative reasonable access to an establishment to confirm that the establishment is complying with the minimum requirements.
As a member of Ceres Tourism, I will desist from publicly criticising the municipality, office bearers and/or municipal officials. All complaints in respect of any municipal decision and/or conduct will be referred to the Chair-person of the Tourism Portfolio Committee of Council.
Treat Ceres Tourism and each of its employees and representatives with respect and dignity.
