Rooikraal guesthouse is located on the farm Rooikraal that forms part of Middelposboerdery in Prince Alfred Hamlet, 10km from Ceres and 2 km for the village of Prince Alfred’s Hamlet. The house is nestled between pear orchards on a working farm. There is a huge 16-hectare dam only 500m away that is perfect for water skiing, rowing, fishing and all kinds of outdoor activities. The house with its private fence all around it is perfect and safe for the whole family.
This is an old farmhouse with Oregon wood ceilings, floors and doors that has been restored and converted into a 3 spacious en-suite bedroom house. Bedroom 1 is furnished with a double bed. Bedroom 2 contains two single beds. Bedroom 3 contains one king-sized bed and one double bed. There is also a double sofa bed in the living area. All bedding and bath towels are provided.
The house comprises a big farm kitchen and living area. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, cutlery and crockery, Nespresso coffee machine as well as a dishwasher. In the living area is a nice cosy indoor fireplace. One crate of braai wood is provided. There is a lovely outside patio area which has a table and chairs where guests can enjoy great views over the orchards and mountains
Please note that the cottage is located on a working farm and vehicles and workers may work in the surrounding orchards during die week in high season from November to April when the fruit is ready for picking. Weekends are quiet but spraying can occasionally occur at night-time until 22.00. There is also a field next to the house where cattle are grazing.
Check-in times are from 14:00 and check out times at 11am. We are open all year round
